Finals Day Set For Tomorrow At Morocco Mall Junior Pro Casablanca
AIN DIAB, Casablanca, Morocco - After a lay day at the World Surf League (WSL) Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) 1,000, the Morocco Mall Junior Pro Casablanca resumed today to complete the men's Round of 32. Conditions were tricky, but this didn't stop the top-performing juniors from showcasing their skills and delivering some massive performances to decide the Quarterfinals. Finals Day is set for tomorrow, and the next call will be on Sunday, May 10 at 7:00 a.m. GMT+1.

Pietro Garroux (ITA) continued his momentum in Morocco with an excellent showing in the men's Round of 32. Garroux scored an 8.33 (out of a possible 10) that propelled him into the lead to take the win ahead of Ryan Coelho (BRA). Fernando Ibarra (ESP) also dropped an excellent 8.00 in his heat to seal the victory over Francisco Santos (POR) in second.
Teenage Irish surfing champion Joshua Karbus also recorded a big win today, earning his first Quarterfinal appearance of his junior career. Karbus locked in a total of 14.00 to take the win over Mário Leopoldo (POR). Top seeds Hans Odriozola (DEU), Lukas Skinner (GBR) and Alfonso Suarez (ESP) will also feature in the Quarterfinals tomorrow.
In the last heat of the day, Alai Rodriguez Albeniz (FRA) put together the highest heat total of the round with 14.40 (out of a possible 20). The 16-year-old French champion grabbed every opportunity he could get, catching waves under priority to build his score and secure a spot in the Quarterfinals. South Africa's Levi Epenetos advanced in second place.
