Men's Round Two Called ON at Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro Presented by GWM

Competition has been called ON today at the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro Presented by GWM, stop No. 3 of the 2026 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT). Men's Round Two, Heat 3 will commence at 7:05 a.m. AEST, with the remaining 14 heats to run in pumping four-to-five foot surf at Snapper Rocks. Women's Round Two, Heats 1 - 3 will follow. 

Heat 2 will see Queenslander Ethan Ewing (AUS) take on Rio Waida (INA) at Snapper Rocks. Ewing is fresh off a Quarterfinal finish at Margaret River, whilst Waida is still hunting for a breakthrough result in 2026. 

Californian Cole Houshmand (USA) will have his work cut out for him when he takes on reigning two-time Gold Coast Pro event winner Filipe Toledo (BRA) in Heat 14 of Round Two. Each surfer has a contrasting style in terms of stance, but both bring pinpoint power and accuracy on the long, groomed walls of Snapper Rocks. 

Heat 6 of Round Two will see two of the CT's most exciting competitors, when 2025 World No. 2 Griffin Colapinto (USA) takes on 2026 CT Rookie Mateus Herdy (BRA). Herdy is looking to break into Round Three for the first time this season, whilst Colapinto is looking for another Finals Day berth in 2026 to back up his equal third-place finish at Bells last month. 

Heat 1 of women's Round Two will see current Rankings Leader Gabriela Bryan (HAW) do battle with CT veteran and former winner on the Gold Coast, Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS).
